Job Search Tools The Ax vs. The Chainsaw
Job Search Tools The Ax vs. The Chainsaw Last week in Utah there was a crazy wind storm it caused all kinds of accidents, and blew peoples stuff around their backyards. And, of course, it caused a few Globe Willows to fall down. Globe Willows are called garbage trees because of the amount of branches that fall from them they grow very, very fast, but are also susceptible to having big branches fall in a storm. Last week a friend posted a picture on Facebook of his tree that had fallen towards his house. I had only had one occasion to use a chainsaw before, and it was pretty fun, so I jumped on the chance to do it again. On Facebook he said he would chop it up best he could he said he didnt have a chainsaw, but he had an ax. Im sure he was joking about using an ax have you ever used an ax? Its very hard work, especially on a job like this. A chainsaw is the tool that can make this a job to do in less than an hour. Using an ax would be a full day of frustrating and tiring work. It is NOT the right tool for this job. I took my kids over and we had a fun time with two chainsaws. My 14 year old did a lot of the work, and two of my girls got a chance to use the chainsaw their first experience. We are all more experienced now and on the way home we got some ice cream cones, and unloaded a van full of firewood. If we used an ax, we would not have finished even half of the tree, it would have been a lot messier, and I would have been completely worn out. None of that was the case because we had the right tool. In your job search, JibberJobber is the chainsaw. Your spreadsheet is the ax. Yes, the spreadsheet can do the job. But it will require more time, and be more tedious, and take more mental energy, leaving you drained. Put your effort into networking, not into forcing your tools to work. The night before we did this job, we went to a friends house to borrow his chainsaw. He said most people want to push down on the branch they are cutting. Dont do that let the chainsaw do the work. If you are muscling through a spreadsheet, you will have to push down and do a lot of work. Youll get tired, and wear yourself out. Or, more realistically in a job search, youll become less organized, and spend too much time making the tool work. Its your choice. You can even use a steak knife or garden shears to do this job. but in a job search you dont have to go for the wrong tool. Simply get an account on JibberJobber. Its like a free chainsaw. Who Are the Worlds Most Attractive Employers in 2015 Universum have released further findings from the Universum Talent Survey, this time revealing the top ten most attractive employers in the world of 2015. The ranking has been put together based on the responses from more than 120,000 students from some of the worlds top universities. Why are the top employers so attractive to job seekers? How to Keep Your Staff Productive Without Sacrificing the Festive Spirit
How to Keep Your Staff Productive Without Sacrificing the Festive Spirit Despite being a celebratory month for all in the working world, the month of December can pose some additional challenges for employers and employees alike. Namely, how to ensure productivity and targets don’t fall to the wayside as we juggle workload with personal commitments, which can range from social events to purchasing presents and budgeting. That’s why at Perkbox, we’re launching our #5GoldenThings campaign to start the conversation about how to balance both productivity and festivity in the run-up to Christmas. Read on to uncover how to foster this and remember to take good note, as December is just around the corner! 1. The state of play To deep dive into how employees are really feeling in December, we decided to carry out some research into exactly that how they feel! One in three Brits described themselves as unproductive in the month of December. When it came to Christmas stress, top of the pile was buying the perfect Christmas present, chosen by a huge 35% of respondents. Other stresses included ‘trying to budget for presents, food and travel’, chosen by 21% of employees and ‘too many social events’ chosen by 12% of respondents. From this, it’s clear that the infringement of employees’ personal lives in the workplace is inevitable, particularly in the run up to Christmas. The key as an employer, is how this can be mitigated to ensure your employees finish the year on a high and are not consumed with stress and worry. 2. What can you do as an employer? The good news is that as an employer there is a lot that can be done to minimise the stress faced by your employees. The first step is to reflect on the targets your employees have been set for the month of December, are they realistic? It’s important to take external factors into account when assessing this. As you know, many businesses who may be customers, suppliers or even prospects of yours are taking it easy in the month of December, and this will inevitably impact your team too. A good way to help your employees keep the balance between festive fun and workload is by carving out specific times during the working week designated for Christmas related activities. This could be anything from Secret Santa, to a ‘decorate the office party’ or a themed movie night. When we asked employees what their favourite things about Christmas in the office were, they said ‘drinking with friends’, ‘eating delicious food’ and ‘celebrating the years’ successes’ â€" which may help provide some more inspiration for what you could do in your office. It’s also worth noting that if employees have festive activities to look forward to, they are more likely to be productive when doing work; as their work time and time to celebrate have been more clearly carved out by their employer and they know when is the time for what. Once expectations are set, it’s always nicer to enjoy the fun activities guilt free, ending the year on a high! 3. Continue the feel-good feeling into the New Year Finally, don’t forget to carry these “feel good†vibes into the New Year. With many employees regretting leaving too much work until after Christmas and feeling depressed on returning, January is a notoriously bad month for morale. Use December as a chance to get ahead of the curve. For example, why not put some time aside in December for your employees to look back on their achievements of the past year and set some goals for January. This will help ensure your employees hit the ground running when they come back in the New Year and avoid half of the month passing by where people are still deciding what the priorities for the quarter ahead should be. And remember that although Christmas cheer is something specifically related to the month of December, encouraging a good work/life balance amongst your employees is something that should occur all year round so these tips are to a great extent transferable! If you have any good tips of your own, we would love to hear from you on social media using the hashtag #5GoldenThings. Let’s get festive and be productive! How a Math Tutor Resume Can Help You
How a Math Tutor Resume Can Help YouA math tutor resume is important because the person who is applying for a position will want to find out more about the person. They need to know the experience level, the education level, and the work history. This will help them to choose someone that has all of these qualities. The resume can help you get some idea of what they know about their previous employment. Do they have many years of experience with a college-level math class? Are they capable of teaching multiple students at once? How long were they teaching for and what kind of results did they get?If they worked for a school during high school then they probably already know how to teach calculus. This will give them an advantage over people who were just out of high school. For some students, it is easier to learn one day at a time.A math tutor resume can also help the hiring manager to find out the education level. If they don't think they are good enough for the job then they can sh ow that they are very well educated and have an extensive amount of experience. You don't want to look completely unprepared for the job. They may know the former employer because it is a small school or even a private company. You can get more work experience by working for smaller businesses that offer smaller classes or longer school hours. If you want a high salary for the job then the applicant can work harder. One of the first things the hiring manager will be looking for is how much experience they have and if they have worked in an office setting or they have worked for a smaller school. Some colleges and universities will hire someone that has no experience when they only want someone who has been in the classroom for years. They want someone who can show they have a lot of education. Showing previous employers some of the work you have done will help you get hired quickly. If you haven't taught a math class before but are willing to teach then you can talk to your current emp loyer and see if they can provide you with a math tutor resume. There are usually some job openings and this will allow you to see if this type of teaching will be available. This should be considered a bonus when looking for a new job because many employers are looking for math tutors. As mentioned before, a math tutor resume can show you how you can help someone else. If you have a good personality and can be patient, then you should be able to teach them a thing or two. You can be the one to show them the fun part about teaching. You don't want to be a teacher that gets angry when no one shows up on time.

Try Twitter Job Search or Twitter Job Cast.Follow recruiters and companies with brands you admire. This may help you find a contact inside the company, get closer to the decision maker, and better understand the companys corporate culture.Find hashtags that are relevant to your industry or job function.
